System Administrator, Huh?

System Administrator, Huh?

In today’s world of digital interfacing, we start to notice extreme changes in the way people consume mainstream media. Not only by using the standard devices in today's entertainment market, but by use of other means such as the iPhone, etc. Considering factors such as the growing need for bandwidths and network speed, we also consider things like value, priority and convenience. All of these things are functions of a prominent industry professional who’s part of a healthy team.

Managing artists in today's market doesn’t necessarily promise a large return on investment in comparison to before, since the decline in music sales in 1999. Now that everyone seems to be a star these days, we are less limited to the easily available sounds of the seeming proprietary image of today’s artists. Communications technology has shorten the time and distance between effective interfacing between people seeking vocal or visual interaction. Because time is money, automation is become the primary need for lots of businesses worldwide.
“The bottom line?” Based on the nature of this series of blogs, I find that it is important to consider the vast difference in workload given the right concoction of automated features converted and bottlenecked into an interface. This is of course the difference between managing people face-to-face versus managing an of-site system. With that same concept in mind, we take note of other examples such as the one at www.lbddistribution.com. Websites like this one allow people to manage artists off-site. This is a disadvantage due to the lack of physical contact you will make with your manager. On the other hand, the benefits greatly outweigh the downside in my perspective. Having off-site management allows the manager to use their tools at hand without carrying them constantly. This will allow them to maximize on niche market style management, verses one or two high grossing artists. This gives them access to better tools than just one's available by portable means. Although the site is newly founded, they bring at least 10 years of experience to independent artists.

This concept is one I will definitely consider adding to my current website! Universal digital access to services I can provide professionally through virtual teleconferencing will be an additional service I will provide. It is important to also consider weather the new system has all parties involved receive a separate interfacing platform. This goes for the artists, the target contact, myself, etc. What type of ideas would you suggest to make a better online management system for today’s industry?
